COMPETITION GUIDELINE AND COMPETITION FLOW
General Competition Guideline
- Languages accepted in this competition are English and Malay. Abstract, Extended Abstract and Video Presentation may be in any of these languages. For example, if your abstract is in English and the video presentation is in Malay, it is accepted. If goes the other way around, it is also accepted. If you maintain using a language throughout the presentation, it is also allowed. You may also decide what language to be used for the extended abstract (submission is optional).
- Maximum number of members in each group is 10. Groups that contain more than 10 members will need to remove the extra members or form another innovation group.
- Juries of this event MAY NOT be the participant at the same time.
Categories of the Competition
There are two main categories of participation in ISIC:
1) Innovation Idea
2) Innovation Product/Project
This is to ensure that good ideas will compete with ideas only, while good innovation projects (with products) will compete fairly with other products.

Innovation Idea
Please present the idea via a poster (and upload the presentation video on YouTube).
The poster can be in the form of physical poster that you print and present in a video, or a digital poster and present it in a video.
Innovation Product/Project
Please present your innovation product/project and all related supporting materials and upload on YouTube.
Then choose which sub-category your idea/product suits in:
1) Social Sciences
2) Science & Technology
3) Innovation in Education and Teaching

Participants will receive a letter of acceptance from the organizer if the abstract is accepted after being evaluated.

Participants will need to pay the fees and fill in the Google Form by attaching the proof of fees payment, report (PRODUCT) or poster (IDEA) and the YouTube link of the presentation.
Submitting the REPORT is optional for innovation product. Usually, participants may need to write the report if they cannot include all relevant information about their product in the video presentation due to the time limitation. The report is used for assessment purposes and not for publication purposes. For publication, please write the EXTENDED ABSTRACT about the innovation.
For IDEA, usually because it is still in an initial stage of development, all information may be presented in the video and there is NO NEED to write further report.
In conclusion,
REPORT - write a report only if your product cannot be explained sufficiently in the video. Usually, there is no need to write a report if you enter the innovation idea category.

EXTENDED ABSTRACT - it is used for publication purposes (optional).
To register, without the proof of payment and the YouTube link, the Registration Form will not be able to be submitted through the system.
Record your presentation within 4-6 minutes and UPLOAD it on YOUTUBE. Submit the Registration Form with the YouTube link before or on the deadline. NO OTHER FORMS of virtual submission is accepted. You cannot submit the registration via email or other methods.
Upon receiving your YouTube link, the secretariat will upload the video again into AID/ISIC YouTube channel. This is to assist juries to judge the entries by the participants.
All participants need to make sure the video uploaded on YouTube must be set PUBLIC or UNLISTED.

EXTENDED ABSTRACT

JUDGING
Participants are required to present the innovation idea or innovation product through a pre-recorded video presentation, uploaded on YouTube and submit the link in the Registration Form.
Participants need to attend a live Zoom Q&A session on 18 July 2024 with the juries. Questions will be asked directly and no presentation is needed as the juries have watched the videos before the session date. The exact time of the session will be informed before 18 July 2024.
Main Criteria for Judging:-
Results of the competition will be announced on 31 July 2024 (2.30pm MYT).
Participants need to attend a live Zoom Q&A session on 18 July 2024 with the juries. Questions will be asked directly and no presentation is needed as the juries have watched the videos before the session date. The exact time of the session will be informed before 18 July 2024.
